Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the company said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
